DEVELOPING: One man dead after crashing truck into W. Petit home

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Officers were called to the 200 block of West Pettit Avenue Tuesday morning after a car crashed into a house and the driver was reported unresponsive.
Upon arrival just after 7 a.m., officers found a truck into the porch area of the house and the driver was still unresponsive.

Fort Wayne Firefighters and TRAA medics who were also present began live saving measures on the driver. The driver was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased by doctors.
The Fort Wayne Police Department FACT team was called out to the scene for a thorough investigation into the cause of the accident.

Presently, the cause of the crash is not known, according to police officials. The name of the victim will not be released at this time until next of kin can be notified.
Police say this is an ongoing investigation.
The 200 block of West Pettit Ave was closed until just after 9 a.m. while investigators processed the scene.
