CARES small business grant applications now closed

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The City of Fort Wayne is closing the application portal for grants to small businesses located inside City limits, but businesses located outside City limits may still apply through December 1.

Approved and pending applications from City businesses will exhaust the $750,000 available from Federal CARES Act funds provided by the City through the state of Indiana. Approximately 200 businesses inside City limits are anticipated to receive grants. There is still funding available to cover a limited number of additional grants to businesses located outside City limits.

The CARES grant program is a partnership between the City of Fort Wayne, Allen County and Greater Fort Wayne Inc. offering small business grants up to $5,000 to cover expenses associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Businesses with fewer than 150 employees may be reimbursed for expenses such as personal protective equipment, sanitation products and some facility modifications and technology investments. Interested businesses located outside City limits may apply here.
