Shooting leaves boy fighting for his life

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne’s latest shooting could become another homicide.

Police say the boy who was wounded in a shooting last night at a house just north of downtown is fighting for his life.

Fort Wayne Police are not identifying the boy and are not even giving his age.

There’s also no word on just what happened. Detectives are asking neighbors for help in solving the case.

FWPD officials released the following regarding the shooting:

“On Wednesday, 11/18/2020, at approximately 8:41 PM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 400 block of East Fourth Street reference a shooting. Officers arrived at Lawton Park and located the male/juvenile victim in the parking lot. The victim was conscious and suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital in serious condition. Upon arriving at the hospital his condition was downgraded to life-threatening by a physician.

Evidence indicates the shooting occurred near the intersection of Spy Run Avenue and East Fourth Street. Detectives are interviewing witnesses at police headquarters in an effort to obtain suspect information.
