Old Fort marking events of 1775 this weekend

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Looking for something fun and educational to do with the family?

The Old Fort will mark the events of 1775 in Indiana this weekend.

Representatives with the Old Fort released the following:

The frontier was under British control as the Revolutionary War was being fought on the east. The east coast was in open revolt in 1775, but what was happening on the frontier? Take a trip to Post Miami (the Old Fort) under British control since 1760. Witness what it was like to live in a British trading post. Watch as merchants trade their wares while the British Army keeps a close eye out for any rebels. See demonstrations of military and merchant life, period cooking, period artisans, and weapons.

The Old Fort is located at 1201 Spy Run Ave Fort Wayne, IN 46805. Parking is available at Headwaters Park, Lawton Park, and the lot across from the Fort on Spy Run Ave. Visitors should use the Rivergreenway Trail under the Spy Run bridge to access the Fort.
