No cause yet released for Evansville house explosion

UPDATE (August 12, 2022):

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Not much is yet known about the deadly house explosion in Evansville.

The coroner in Evansville yesterday identified the victims as 43-year-old Charles Hite, 37-year-old Martina Hite ,and 29-year-old Jessica Teague.

Firefighters say the Hite’s died in the home, they say Teague was a neighbor. The cause of the explosion hasn’t been given.

Yesterday saw a video of the explosion make the rounds online. It shows the home torn apart by a blast and a fireball.

ORIGINAL STORY:

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Three people are dead after a house explosion in Evansville. It happened Wednesday afternoon on North Weinbach Avenue.

Two of the three people killed were in the home that exploded, while the other was in a neighboring home.

39 houses were damaged in the explosion.

A search for any other possible victims is underway as ATF and the Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office conduct an investigation.
