INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – Indiana lawmakers are advancing a measure that aims to recruit more teachers. House Bill 1528 would provide scholarships to those in other careers who decide to start teaching.
This comes at a time when there are over 1,400 teaching positions open on Indiana’s online education job board.
The bill passed unanimously in the House and now moves to a Senate committee for consideration.
