INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Colts are moving on from their veteran starting quarterback. ESPN reports Indianapolis is planning to release Matt Ryan after just one season with the team.

Ryan threw for over three-thousand yards, 14 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions, but was benched twice last season.

The release of the 37-year-old will save the Colts over $17 million dollars in salary cap space, but $12 million dollars of his contract was guaranteed.

Indianapolis is slated to pick fourth in April’s NFL Draft and has been viewed by many as a team interested in taking a QB.
