SPEEDWAY, Ind. (ADAMS) – Actor Adam Driver has been named the honorary starter for Sunday’s 107th Indianapolis 500.
He grew up in Mishawaka outside South Bend, became a U.S. Marine after the September 11 terror attacks, and enrolled at the University of Indianapolis before graduating from Julliard.
Indianapolis Motor Speedway president J. Douglas Boles said in a statement that Driver will experience “one of the most exhilarating, powerful and exciting moments in all of sports” when he waves the green flag.
